Dr. Mary Englund is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in working with children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Englund graduated from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, Chicago Campus (presently called Argosy University) in 2004. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at The Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado in 2004. In Colorado, she specialized in research-supported treatments for anxiety, mood and eating disorders. Dr. Englund also completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Linden Oaks Hospital at Edward. She has been working in private practice in Naperville since 2006.
Dr. Englund utilizes research supported cognitive-behavioral strategies to empower clients. She views therapy as a collaborative approach. Dr. Englund often refers to herself as a "worry doctor/coach." She utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, exposure and response prevention (e/rp), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), stress management and relaxation strategies in her psychology practice. Dr. Englund enjoys teaching mindfulness and meditation to help clients better manage their symptoms. Additionally, she provides consultations to doctors, teachers as well as parents.
Dr. Englund is a member of the International Obsessive Compulsive Foundation (IOCF), Illinois Psychology Association, Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) and Psychology Today.
